Help & FAQ

Answers about SentiSense features, the API, plans, and billing.

Features

What data sources does SentiSense cover?

SentiSense aggregates financial news from major outlets plus X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Substack, and YouTube finance channels. Our AI clusters related coverage into Stories and scores sentiment across every source, so you can follow how a stock is being discussed without reading each post. The News and Social feeds are available on every tier.

What are Stories?

Stories are AI-clustered groups of related articles about the same market event or theme. Instead of reading dozens of individual pieces, you get one view of each narrative with sentiment analysis and key takeaways. Anyone can browse the stream; Free accounts get 10 full story reads a month, and Pro is unlimited.

What are Stock Reports?

Stock Reports are AI-generated research reports for individual stocks, covering fundamentals, sentiment trends, institutional activity, and key risks. Free accounts get 10 report views a month; Pro is unlimited.

What is the Institutional Tracker?

The Institutional Tracker shows what major institutions, hedge funds, and activist investors are buying and selling, built from SEC 13F filings: aggregate flows, individual holder positions, activist positions, and 13F-reported options positions. Free accounts see a preview (the top holders and positions); Pro unlocks the full dataset. The same data is available through the Institutional Flows API.

What other alternative data do you track?

Congressional trades in the Politicians Tracker, insider trades from Form 4 filings in the Insider Tracker, analyst ratings and price targets, and an earnings calendar with day-after analysis of each report. Each has a free preview; Pro unlocks the full history and the AI analysis.

Do you cover options?

Yes. The Options Radar and the per-stock options tab (IV rank, skew, open-interest walls, unusual activity) are free in the app. Through the API, Free keys get 10 full options dossiers a month and the top 25 radar rows; Pro keys are unlimited, with the full board and full history. See the Options API docs.

What is Market Mood?

Market Mood is an AI-powered indicator that gauges overall market sentiment from news and social media analysis. It gives a quick read on whether the market tone is bullish, bearish, or neutral, and it is free for everyone with no usage cap.

Which stocks does SentiSense cover?

We actively curate close to a thousand US tickers across the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nasdaq 100, and beyond, with AI-assisted reports and sentiment for each. Coverage expands on a rolling basis. Tickers outside the curated universe return basic profile data without reports or KPIs.

Do you cover ETFs?

Yes. We cover dozens of widely traded funds, including SPY, QQQ, IWM, VOO, VTI, and the SPDR sector ETFs, with holdings composition, fund profile, and sentiment derived from news and social mentions where available. Holdings refresh periodically and the list of funds keeps growing.

Does SentiSense have a stock screener?

Yes, and it is free with an account. Run one-click featured screens such as Oversold + Bullish and Sentiment Divergence, or build your own across sentiment, popularity, price and size, analyst, and technical filters, then save screens to rerun later or scope them to your watchlist. You can also describe a screen in plain English and let the AI build it: 5 a month on Free, unlimited on Pro.

Can I get alerts?

Pro includes real-time alerts on the tickers in your watchlist, managed from the Alerts page and the Alert Center in Settings.

API & Developer

How do I access the SentiSense API?

Both Free and Pro include API access. Create a key under Settings > Developer, then send it as the X-SentiSense-API-Key header on every request. Free keys get 1,000 requests a month at 30 per minute; Pro keys are unlimited at 300 per minute. Full documentation is at sentisense.ai/docs/api.

Do all API endpoints require an API key?

Every documented endpoint requires a key, on Free and Pro alike. What differs is depth: Free covers stock prices, charts, and fundamentals, news articles, story listings, and preview slices of the institutional, insider, congressional, earnings, and options data; Pro returns the full datasets, the AI stock summaries, and unlimited story detail.

Can I use SentiSense from Claude, ChatGPT, or my own AI agent?

Yes. The MCP connector gives Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP client tools for stock snapshots, news, financials, options, smart money, screening, the earnings calendar, analyst ratings, and Market Mood, using the same API key. Tool calls count toward the same request quota; Free keys receive preview data and Pro keys full data. There are also published agent skills and Python and Node SDKs.

Plans & Billing

What's included in the Free tier?

Free includes the SentiSense Score for every covered stock, 10 stock report views and 10 full story reads a month, unlimited Market Mood, News and Social feeds, published Indexes, the screener and watchlists, the in-app options tab, and 1,000 API requests a month. Monthly quotas reset on the first of each month.

Do you offer a free trial?

We offer a free tier so you can get familiar with the platform at your own pace: every vertical and API endpoint returns a preview slice, with no card required. When you are ready for the full datasets, a Pro subscription lets you try the whole app with a 14-day money-back guarantee: if it is not for you, request a full refund from Settings > Billing within 14 days, no questions asked.

Can I change or cancel my plan later?

Yes. Upgrade from the pricing page whenever you like; Pro starts immediately. To switch between monthly and annual billing, update your card, or cancel, open Manage Subscription under Settings > Billing, which takes you to our Stripe billing portal. The portal shows exactly when a change takes effect before you confirm it.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments are handled by Stripe. All major credit and debit cards are accepted, and your card details never touch our servers.
